Gluten-free Christmas Tree Meringues

These little meringues are one of my favorite Christmas treats and they are super simple to make. Let get started!


4 large egg whites at room temperature

1 1/3 cups of sugar

¼ tsp. salt

¼ tsp. cream of tartar

Candy canes (optional)



Combine the egg whites in a large bowl and beat on High until white and foamy. Then add the salt and cream of tartar. Continue mixing until soft peaks form.

Now set the timer for 7 minutes and mix in the sugar taking the entire 7 minutes to do so.


Next place the mixture into a piping bag with a star tip at the end and pipe little Christmas trees onto  baking sheet.


If you are using candy canes, place them in a bag and brake them into little pieces. Sprinkle the candy canes on the meringues and bake them at    170º F for 2 hours. Check them often so that they don’t brown on top because every oven is different!
